Cynergy acts as the owner’s principal advisor and as an extension of the owner as an independent third party insuring that the owner’s strategic plan is articulated in terms of design, cost, schedule and market metrics. These metrics are continuously monitored throughout project team selection, design and planning, construction and delivery assuring projects are completed on time, on budget and conform to the intended use and financial outcome.

  • Provide a project platform and environment that holds the project team accountable to the owner’s goals, not the goals of the design or construction team
  • Assemble and contract with the project team very early in the process to mitigate risk and maximize performance through fixed fee pricing with tangible measurement of outcomes rewarded by cost savings to maximize owner value
  • Orchestrate the process from strategic planning through design, pricing, construction and delivery to achieve the owner’s goals in terms of utility, cost and schedule
  • Integrate market and regulatory feasibility along with financial forecasting into the process which is continuously tested from concept through delivery

 

Expertise

Michael Matthews has more than 25 years’ experience in development and acquisition of land, residential, office and multi-family projects throughout the south and southwest. He has directed the overall acquisition and development, including concept, entitlement, architectural, planning, design and engineering, contract negotiation and administration and project management for nearly $1 billion in development projects. He is highly skilled at recognizing and adding value through strategic vision grounded in market fundamentals and sound financial principles. Mr. Matthews is a highly analytical, development team leader with a strong financial background and hands on construction experience with proven ability to direct large scale commercial and residential projects. His approach and strategy is grounded in financial analysis and underwriting with a successful track record of completing difficult projects with successful outcomes. He excels at team building and promoting strategic vision and goals. Mr. Matthews has extensive experience with overall P & L responsibility, and project budget and schedule control across diverse real estate product categories and geographic regions. He has a reputation for a strong work ethic, high energy and the ability to manage multiple, varied projects simultaneously.

 

 

Methodology

Recently, the AIA governing body coined a phrase for new development process called  Integrated Project Delivery (IPB). In fact, Cynergy has been practicing IPD principles for over 20 years. The basic premise of the delivery approach is the integration of the project consultants and contractors into a cohesive team early in the design process to harness the talent and integrate the skill sets of the project team through effective collaboration and communication.
